Krandor - Atherton was seen doing it on TV, like Waqar Younis. My point is that guys like Ponting, Vaughan, Athers would never have been accused on pure conjecture the way that Inzamam was.

True, the chances of this happenening to a Ponting or a Vaughan are zero. Imagine if Aleem Dar had done that to Ponting? All hell would break lose, but only after freezing over.

Hair seems to me like an example of institulionized (sp?) racism. He's racist but just doesn't realize it, thinks its a natural state of affairs. I'm guessing if it was a white team he would have behaved differently. I'm not sure why he's such a senior umpire, maybe more because of a lack of quality officials.

It's a very sad state of affairs for cricket, but then as a Cricinfo article mentioned, cricket stopped becoming the game of 'gentlemen' when WG Grace put the bails back on his stumps after being bowled. Anyways I dont even like the 'gentlemen' term, smacks of colonialism to me...would rather look at cricket as a fascinating game of strategy, skills and concentration unequalled in any other sport. It'll survive the idiots like Hair and Cronje.

Sittingnut - True I guess it is very different to Bodyline. Tim de Lisle made a good point that Waqar was once found guilty of tampering but is now the bowling coach, so how come it's such a big deal?

Savi - yep read that, and there's tons more on cricinfo, and well everywhere else, it even hit cnn!
